What have we learned from the humiliating defeat to Bradford? - By SB
It’s not so much what we have learned, but what we already know.
Maybe Arsene Wenger learned that Gervinho and Ramsey do not belong at Arsenal. But we all know he will never learn. It’s now apparent that our ‘up and comers’ perform better than the deadwood that continually play for Arsenal. It’s scary that the team Arsenal put out last night was close to near full strength.
This was the opportunity to rest some of our stars and play our squad members who desperately believe (and deserve) a chance to play. What a terrific opportunity to win something this year blown. Again.
It shows the character and heart the Arsenal players have. The words ‘team’, ‘comradery’ and ‘pride’ are words you will seldom see associated with this Arsenal team. Last night shows we have no leadership. Jack Wilshere might as well be captain, because Vermaelan looks silent next to Jack. We need players that play with emotion and a willingness to give everything for our famous club. Only two or three players showed that character against Bradford.
How many times must we falter and all of us believe “Hopefully now Wenger will wake up and make some drastically needed changes!”, surely for all you hopeful Gooners out there that think things will change, keep dreaming. Our hopes of salvaging anything this season will be dashed if we register anything less than 3 points on Monday against a hapless Reading side.
Hoping for change.
