Wilshere looking for January return, and a title challenge from Arsenal!
Arsenal’s young hotshot Jack Wilshere might be back for the Gunners sooner than expected judging by the way his recovery is going. The midfielder had to undergo ankle surgery, and was expected to return to the pitch somewhere in February, but the English International announced that he might be ready to play sooner.
“It’s coming along well, I’m working hard in the gym every day and feel I’m in good hands at Arsenal,” said Wilshere.
“We’ve had a few injured at Arsenal in recent years, like Aaron Ramsey, but they are helping me through it.
“I can’t put a specific date on it, but some time in January I’m hoping for if all goes well.”
When asked about Arsenal’s title chances he replied: “Why not? Manchester City are strong favourites but if we carry on our run we’ll keep plugging away.
“Hopefully towards the end of the season they will slip up and we will keep going.”
This could only come as a relief for Arsenal fans who are waiting to see the young star back in action, but the thing is that when Wilshere will come back the team will have a completely different line-up and it might take a while for him to adjust. The team is already changed, but Wenger is planning to make a few transfers in January with a striker and one midfielder on the list as prioirties.

If we get super Mario from dortmund, who do people want to be our first choice three in midfield? Song, jack and gotze for me with gotze in the more advanced role. Then we have like for like replacements in frimpong/coquelin to cover song, arteta to cover jack and Ramsey to cover gotze. They will all get games so will all be happy, now compare that to the man u midfield and Chelsea’s midfield (who play the same system to ours) and I’d say we were in a much better state than them. Tottenham will fall away because they are just shit, maybe give them some lasagne, as for man shitty they are just an exception we all have to get used to. With the right signings in January we will be city’s main challengers this season.

hope this news pushes ramsey even more, ramsey is one of the most technically gifted players at the club and just needs to find a bit more consistency to really kick on. cant wait to have jack back though but we will need to be patient with him as it might take a while to find his feet again. ideal scenario is our current midfield keeps performing so we can ease jack back in rather than being forced to play him which is why he got injured in the first place.

Hard to say what mix of midfielders Wenger would prefer if we bought Gotze, but I do agree that the sound of Song , Wilshere and Gotze is like a smooth melody with a touch of ‘float like a butterfly sting like a bee” beats.

Or do you think he would do what he has done with a lot of good central attacking players and stick gotze on the wings? I hope not as I like gervinho and theo in that position. I must admit that I was unhappy with the sighing of Arteta at first but admit I got it wrong. He complements song so well and keeps everything ticking over nicely in midfield. It’s gonna be so interesting to see his favored three when all fit. Though I think winger will opt for Song Arteta and Jack.

I’m more inclined to believing that Wenger will mainly use Gotze (if we buy him) in the central role, Fab’s bastion and the area where we lack creativity. Arteta is great at holding the ball and i always feel safe when he’s got it, but sometimes he holds the play up and the opportunity and momentum to go forward is lost. I think that also has to do with Arteta needing to come out of his shell more and being confident to take more risks. It’s hard for a new player to come in and win the fans over right away with the pressure on them.
He could play a few games on the wings depending on our opponent. With Song,Arteta and Wilshere combo i think we have a good lock down in midfield, great for games against Man City, Man United, Barca becasue they all like to control the midfield. Gotze on the wing with Walcott will stretch their midfield and open more gaps. Song Gotze and Wilshere combo is more dynamic moving forward.

would be nice to see wenger change formation if we get goetze, or a n other. maybe with podolski we could try 4 4 2. looked really good when we played it against city shapewise we just lacked the cutting edge.

FYI did you know Arshavin is more skilful and creative in the attacking midfield rather than being a winger????
See him play for Russia as a midfield and know that selling him will be a bad idea.
They only play Arshavin under pressure.
Gervinho is in form and has taken Arshavin’s position.
Remember what Arshavin has done for the club…….against Liverpool, Barcelona. The talent of that nature cannot be sold just like that.
He is more skilful, stronger, creative than ramsey…….That’s a fact……look at ramsey play full time, gets exhausted @ the 70th minute…..why not bring Arshavin to find form and show he’s worth it??????
I believe Arshavin can take over ramsey’s position and perform better than Ramsey before Wilshere comes back…..

I hate to see young players get injured , i kinda feel ramsey is a year behind where he should be and wilshere will be 7 or 8 months behind where he should be too , if that makes sense . These young players are still developing . Pretty tired of gotze and hazard talk too , must win tomorrow must must win , can see the 2 manchester clubs dropping points over the weekend .

I hate to be a pessimist but a few months ago we all were venting our frustrations about the team and now that has all subsided, but why? Nothing has changed. I look at our team and think with a few exceptions like RVP, Szczesny, Jack and Vermaelen many of the players are just not good enough and would struggle immensely to get into our rivals teams. We have all accepted second best while paying the most expensive tickets in the league it is a disgrace, the way the club is run is wrong and I am surprised to see everyone accept like it is inevitable, a formality well it isn’t I love arsenal but not this one the one before this shambles, the David Dein days, nothing will ever change if we turn a blind eye. I say everyone should boycott the club not attend the games and not buy any merchandise until the board realise we have power and their “business” can’t run without our money, probably the same money they aren’t spending on quality players.

Let’s not revert back to where we were at the start of October. Arsenal has done well, we stared adversity right in the eye and took the challenge on.
Yes the Board could contribute more in terms of funds, but remember Wenger is a class act when it comes to buying cheap players and turning them into superstars. Have some faith. We need to finish at least fourth and the pressure is on Wenger. This alone should provide common sense that there will be activity in the next transfer window. Wenger is always quiet about his transfer thoughts. He likes to show apathy as to not inflate prices of his potential buys. If you guys haven’t learnt anything about Wenger, then take a closer look instead of resuscitating old news again.
And boycotting the Arsenal games is just ABSOLUTELY preposterous. Do you call yourself a real Arsenal fan by doing this? If anyone wants to relinquish their season ticket for this cause then I’m sure there are many supporters here including me that would happily take the season tickets off you!

We really hope the word that wenger are looking to buy top striker and midfielder is not another gossip. The consequences of not strengthen the squad will hit AFC hard.Hopely wenger will learned from his previous hesitation and be smart to close the deal quickly.

You must be a fool to think we are actually going to buy the players we need, every transfer window everyone always waits for the signings but they never come. What bothers me is the club is run terribly and the fans are paying for it and the fact that we used to aim to win the league now we are aiming for fourth it is a joke. If you want to be deluded go ahead and line the pockets of gazidis and co. I am an arsenal fan but one that sees the truth and realises what is going on and the facts like we will never really compete for the title for a long, long time at this rate.

All hypothetical Grant. I, too don’t believe we’re getting Gotze but stranger things have happened. Maybe Wenger feels the same frustration as you do, HELL THAT WE ALL DO, that coming 4th isn’t good enough. The pressure’s on wenger so rather than being pessimistic, I’d prefer to believe we’ll get a quality signing to ensure we remain competitive, even if it’s not a big name. And yes i agree with your point about Gazidis and Co, but whining subversively about it is a waste of energy.
