After a cracking away win in the fourth round of the FA cup at the weekend, Arsenal are still in with a chance of retaking the crown of most successful club in the famous old competition’s history, which the recent two Wembley victories over Hull City and Aston Villa had given us until Man United won it last season.
So while the likes of Lincoln city and Sutton were hoping for a dream tie against a big club we just wanted a draw that we would have a good chance of winning and nice home tie at the Emirates to boot. So I guess you could say that both Arsenal and our next opponents Sutton will be pretty happy.
The game will be played at the home of the non league club from South London though, so the Gunners will be on unfamiliar territory and will have to approach the game in the right manner to make sure we do not become another big team on the wrong side of a giant killing.
There are still a lot of big names left in the competition and amazingly enough there was not one all Premier League tie pulled out. All the big boys play away as well, with Chelsea going to Wolves, Man City at Huddersfield, Man Utd at Blackburn and Tottenham at Fulham.
A pretty great FA cup draw for the neutral and for us Gooners don’t you think?
Bob.
Banana skin. Away on a plastic pitch.
Good draw.
we shouldnt take it lightly though
I would play a similar team to the last match: with holding, Ox, theo, Lucas, Adelaide and welbeck
Anyway, Watford next
Must win it. No other result is acceptable
Terrible draw, Man C v Man U, Clelsea v Spuds and Us at home to anyone would have been great.
Xhaka already snarling at their second choice keeper ……This could be interesting………
I can hear Wenger`s comments already. “The ground was entirely unsuitable to our style of play”.
