Arsenal is one of two clubs very interested in La Liga striker

Arsenal and Liverpool will face each other after the international break, but they are already locking horns on the transfer front.

Both clubs need a new striker and Todofichajes says they are interested in a summer move for Alexander Isak.

The Swedish striker is set to make a move to the Premier League after shining in the Spanish top flight.

Arsenal would need a striker in the summer or sooner if they sell Alexandre Lacazette in the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is gradually building the Arsenal team to his taste and the attacking position is the next spot he needs to fix.

He has signed defenders and midfielders who now play as he wants them to and he needs strikers who can score more goals for the team.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will remain at the Emirates for the rest of his contract, but the club captain isn’t getting any younger and would need a long-term replacement.

Isak fits that role and at 22, he still has a long way to go to become the finished article.

Arsenal’s signings have been around that age range and he could become the Emirates goal machine for the next decade.

The report adds that Real Sociedad would sell him for €40M, a fee that shouldn’t be a problem for Arsenal to pay.
