Despite being the coolest man on the planet and almost giving the Arsenal manager a heart attack with the Padenka penalty to win our EPL game against Burnley in the 98th minute, Alexis Sanchez was just pipped to my Man of the Match award by Shkodran Mustafi who scored the crucial opener and defended with bravery, skill and passion throughout.
Cech 8 – Much busier than expected especially after red card. Great saves, took one for the team and almost stopped their spot kick.
Gabriel 6 – Defensively sound but we missed Bellerin’s pace and penetration.
Mustafi 8.5 – Great glancing headed goal, stood strong and took some blows for the cause. Top man.
Koscielny 7.5 – Struggled at times as Burnley piled on pressure but won the crucial penalty.
Monreal 7- Tried hard but didn’t quite click.
Xhaka 5 – Only gort that score for playing well before his latest rush of blood. Lucky we got away with it.
Ramsey 6 – Some good moments but too often the wrong decision, pass or finish.
Ozil – 8 Was excellent and at the heart of our creative play. Assist for Mustafi goal.
Iwobi 7 – Cool under pressure and linked up attacks well.
Alexis 8 – Cheeky but got the job done at the end of another tireless game. Shooting was wayward early on.
Giroud 7 – Kept Burnley defenders busy and gave his all.
subs:
Coquelin 6 – Got stuck in to shore up defence and nearly scored himself.
Welbeck and Bellerin – No time.
Bob.
For me Sanchez was the best player on the pitch.
I thought Ramsey wasn’t that bad he worked hard and yes still not match sharp but his getting closer every game
Its been a while since I commented on here.
Yesterdays game proves that Arsenal is bad for my health…oOoOoOoO geez.
We played well up until the send of, but lacked that killer instinct. Wrong as it is, it was kinda awsome seeing wenger show alil fire, as it shows the man still wants to win(given the importance of this game in particular).
I love Giroud’s contribution and i think his a darn good option to have, but i think its time for sanchez to lead the line again. a front three of sanchez lucas and welbeck, not only has an abundance of pace, but all three of them are hard workers, decent finishing, good technical ability and versatility, which i believe will change our play in becoming more fluent, less predicatable and a touch of ruthlessness. Im sure ozil will flourish even more.
Coq is back at the right time, and so is bellerin and walcot, which makes us even stronger. Ramsey surely needs to improve, as he obviously going to be our first choice for the next couple of games and needs to show some discipline etc.
Prof, dont get this wrong, beat Watford and Chelsea and we have a slim chance.
Lets do it gunners
COYG
Coq in my opinion commits himself to a tackle to easily sometimes it works some times it don’t, Laurent Koscielny use to do the same in his early Arsenal days but now he has mastered the art of holding of rather then plunging in also Hector is nearly a finished article
Ramsey score was about right. Ramsey played better but still doesn’t deserve to start. However, now with Eleny at African Cup of Nations and Xhaka out, Ramsey will have to start. Hopefully he will continue to improve.
I would give Alexis the MOTM simply because the penalty at the end of the match was very tough mentally. The best players miss penalties at the best of times but his penalty miss could have put us 10 points behind. He got the job done for us at the end.
I would have given it to Mustafi or Koscielny. Alexis was excellent as well, but did miss quite a few opportunities, until eventually scoring.
I have a suggestion: I think we must start Mustafi in each and every game even when he can’t even stand, because he never loses a game.
21 unbeaten and counting. #SkodranNeverLose.
we will Velcro him to the goal post if his injured 🙂
I read all the comments just to see if anyone had corrected you. Ratings are fine. It’s just that it isn’t called “padenka”, it’s panenka.
Fair ratings to me.
Gabriel tried hard enough. Can’t expect much in attacking.
As we had the whole week after the Swansea victory, I assumed Wenger would play the same starting eleven. Iwobi was impressive, but I would love to see Lucas play more.
Ramsey surely played better, but did he really have to come forward and stay in the final third that much? Sometimes, he looked like he was on other attacking players’ way and blocking them. And, that grin after he missed Giroud scorpion…
I hope we prepare well, play the best eleven and beat Chelsea.
I like how British players Get all the excuse all the time.
Ramsey Slow Arsenal quick passing game .he back pass all the time his Selfish. he don’t deserve to be in Arsenal team.
i rate Ramsey for mid table Club.
he will not get a place in Madrid Barcelona or man City even man United team.
