Arsenal rumour round-up – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Musonda, Brozovic, Milik

The international break has given us limited news to report on, so we thought we’d delve into the rumours that are circulating around our beloved club.

Arsene Wenger has recently claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not currently on his wanted list, but that has not stopped the media from linking us with his arrival this summer when his current PSG contract runs out. The Swedish superstar has confirmed he has offers to move to England at the end of the term, but it appears unlikely that our club would be willing to meet his wage demands.

Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda has claimed that us, along with both Manchester clubs, made an attempt to sign him before January, which were not entertained by his club. The Belgian is supposedly one of the brightest talents from their FA Youth Cup winning side, but is yet to make his mark on their first-team.

Croatian international Marcelo Brozovic is a name regularly being linked with an Emirates move, with us claimed to have held talks with his agent prior to him joining Inter Milan on loan last January. The versatile 23 year-old is still with the Italians until this summer, when they are likely to make the move permanent, which will surely mean his immediate future will be at the San Siro, despite all the rumours.

Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik is the latest name to be linked with a switch to North London, and he looks to be an exciting prospect. The 22 year-old has scored an impressive 42 goals since joining Ajax on an initial loan deal 20 months ago. He is now set to star alongside Robert Lewandowski in this summer’s upcoming tournament, and could turn out to be the player we need to add to our attack.

For once I would love to see any one of these four players join us in the close-season, although the latter is the only player I believe we could sign, that Wenger may try and sign. It is no secret that we need more goals from attack, and unfortunately neither of Olivier Giroud or Theo Walcott look likely to be going. Milik would be a typical risky buy for Wenger, relying on bringing out his potential instead of investing in a big-money striker.

Do you really think we will spend big on a striker this year? Could Wenger be misdirecting the media about his interest in Zlatan? Who do you think is most likely to join us in the summer?

  1. Well… Wenger’s definitely going to be spending this summer and I’m sure that he will want to sign his main targets before the European championship kicks off, as a good performance in these tournaments will bump up any player’s value.

Yeah, I know that this is Wenger who we are talking about,
But Put it this way, I will be very surprised and extra extra extra disappointed, If that wasn’t the case.

  2. We need a world class striker who doesn’t miss sitters like Giroud and Walcott. Although we haven’t played well this season we have created plenty of opportunities but failed to put the ball in the net. We also need a Dm and cm because wilshere is injury prone, cazorla is old and Ramsey is terrible.

  3. I would be very happy if we get rid of this deadwoods Szczesny Debuchy Mertesaker Gibbs Flamini Arteta Rosicky
    Ox Theo Sanogo Giroud.

    1. You missed Walcott … Ox is far better than Walcott, at least he gets involved …

  4. We need to spend big next season and buy 5 marquee players.
CB because Mertesaker is too slow and not good enough.
CDM because we only have one in Coq but he is still too small and needs competition.
CM this season injury to Cazorla has shown how much we need box to box cm.
Ramsey is into good enough and jack is injury prone

  5. It will be good for we the Arsenal fans to face the business at hand instead of to be wandering about the bush of transfer market for who and who should Arsenal buy for their next season campaign. How many rods do we want to put into the fire at the same time?

Arsenal are still in this season title race, aren’t they? We should be praying for Arsenal to win their remaining 8 BPL games and watch what results Leicester City will get from their remaining 7 League games, with hopes they will stuttered so that Arsenal will storm past them in the race to the title trophy table and lift it.
