Opinion: 9 potential Aubameyang replacements for Arsenal, including surprise Man City transfer raid

Edinson Cavani

We’ve not been linked with Edinson Cavani, but the experienced Uruguay international has fallen out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain this season and could be worth trying at Arsenal as a short-term option.

One of the most lethal finishers in the game for many years, Cavani looks made for Premier League football and could be just what we need for a year or two so we’re not rushing youngsters like Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah into becoming first choice straight away.

Raul Jimenez

We’ve been mentioned as being among the suitors for Wolves striker Raul Jimenez by a recent report from the Daily Star, and this would certainly be another promising option for us.

The Mexico international has shown what he can do in the Premier League and looks like he has what it takes to shine for a bigger club than Wolves.

Moussa Dembele

A quality player who’s been linked with our rivals, Moussa Dembele is surely an option worth exploring if Aubameyang leaves.

The Frenchman has been prolific for Lyon, and the Sun suggest he’d cost around £60million – surely not out of our price range? The difficulty would come with persuading him to join us over the likes of Manchester United, mentioned in that report from the Sun, and Chelsea, who have both been linked with him by The Athletic.

  1. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again…Martinelli! We desperately need to sort out our midfield, and defence. No way we can buy a new striker as well!

    1. We don’t need a new striker we have enough at the club who know how to stick the ball into the net they are natural scorers Jimmy Greaves work rate was not brilliant but BOY could he score goals in the right place at the right time

  2. Really like Cavani! Edouard is only 22? Wow… doubt Celtic would sell him though…
ION.. The top story on Sky Sports is – Gerrard: The story of the slip 👍👍😂 love it….

  3. Hi all! Hope ur all well and staying safe?

Will be gutted to see Auba go but cant blame him if he does. He’s world class and. Unfortunately, he’s just not in a world class team. Who ever steps in to fill the position needs to scoring from the get-go because it’s the goals that have kept us where we are (were)!

  4. Everything has time if he want to leave let him go we have seen may stars leaving the club God will provide another Joshua to lead the front line for arsenal
