Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – Sane, Krychowiak and El Sharaawy

We are still months away from the winter transfer window, so I wont bore you too often with the latest Arsenal transfer rumours, but just thought I’d give you a snippet of what is going around, as it is my duty to cover ALL Arsenal stories in the press!

The truly reliable Metro (sarcasm!) is giving us the first report about a move to sign Grzegorz Krychowiak in January, who we have been linked with an interest for some months now. The Polish international scored a wonderful half-volley from outside the box to deny the Republic of Ireland an automatic place in Euro 2016, and has continued to earn plaudits across Spain and Europe. I can’t imagine too much is happening behind the scenes currently, but I hope we do land the Sevilla star.

Another reliable source in the Mirror, is claiming we have had our scouts keeping tabs on Schalke’s Leroy Sane, who is in tremendous form, bagging seven goals in his last 10 matches in all competitions. He certainly looks an exciting prospect, but Schalke (currently third in the Bundesliga) are usually quite stubborn in the transfer market (as we well know having tried to sign Julian Draxler previously), and the fee will most likely be outside Wenger’s willingness.

The same report mentions that we are tracking Stephan El Sharaawy, who is currently on-loan from AC Milan. The Italy international has struggled since picking up a foot injury in December 2013, and managed only 28 appearances over a two year period. He is returning to form in France, and is apparently on Wenger’s wanted list, because what we really need right now is more players who can play between midfield and attack…

    1. What? When they have the ball?
How Santi’s impact gets so undervalued is beyond me. Assisted the set-piece that undid Bayern, while we still kept a clean sheet against one of the most potent attacks in the world. Creating chances for fun while still doing his defensive duties. Played LVG and United for fools. The little wizard is a superstar, no way do I want anyone in his place for the big games.

  1. Now Listen Baby Please
Why are you trying to bust my testees?

The whole summer I was tortured with transfer rumours: Martinez, Dybala, Lacazette, Cavani, Higuain, Benzema, Krychowiak, Vidal, Gotze, Pedro, Kondogbia, Schneiderlin, etc.

Yes I will be thrilled if Wenger gets a big name but if he only got Cech in the Summer it’s highly unlikely for him to get somebody in January. Also Clubs do not like to sell in January and players don’t like to move in January

If Welbeck, Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky are back by January, then forget about it.

We usually get players in January if we desperately need someone like Gabriel

    1. Gabriel and Monreal have been our most recent January signings… And don’t under-estimate either, they were both performing very well as first-team regulars in La Liga and their price-tags were a steal! Gabriel was hardly desperate as we had Chambers, Kos and Mertz and with the language barrier he was never going to be an instant first-team inclusion.
The biggest thing to consider with January transfers is whether they are cup-tied which is a massive deterring factor for the big names, who a lot of, are still playing in the CL and wouldn’t be able to if they move.
I’d like us to go in hard for Sergi Samper.. He’s voiced discontent, and is unlikely to lock down a first-team place with Rakitic and Busquets. We have a pretty solid Spanish connection at Arsenal now (Arteta, Cazorla, Bellerin, Monreal and Gabriel and Ozil speak Spanish as well.) The kids going to be a superstar!!!!
But then again I hadn’t heard of Gabriel or Monreal until we’d signed them and they’re looking twice the players their fees would represent. With this much money in the bank, I’m fairly confident if there’s a project in mind for the following season, Wenger’ll be on it like a rash!

      1. Your last 2 lines are perfect. I really feel we would see a player who was never linked, but might be a common name as well. Can’t predict what Wenger does, Sanchez, Ozil, Chambers, Gabriel were all never linked before the transfers actually happened.

  2. Please stop already, am still smarting from the disappointments of the lack lustre summer transfer, last thing I need now is someone coming up with specualtiona about who we signing in January….with Welbeck, Wilshire, Rosicky, all due back by January or there about I can almost hear Wenger saying they are like new signings…..and if we care this form till the end of the year Wenger will feel more justified in his refusal to sign more than one player in the transfer window
