Bayern still want Alexis but won’t pay ‘crazy money’ if Arsenal block Man City offer

Despite Alexis Sanchez saying the other day that he knows what his future holds, the Arsenal rumours are saying that it is far from certain. It looked like Manchester City were sure to be offering Arsenal the best transfer fee possible and will probably pay Alexis the top wages that he seems to be demanding, but it would be a PR disaster for Wenger to allow the 28 year-old to join one of our rivals for the Premier League title.

According to today’s Mail, Wenger has told Sanchez that he will move abroad or nowhere, with the only top clubs willing to pay the best wages are likely to be PSG or Bayern Munich, but according to the Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti the Germans will not pay any ‘crazy sums’ to take him to the Allianz Arena.

“If an opportunity comes up, the club will be ready,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying. “There are lots of rumours. Alexis is a great player but not the only one in the world. I like Alexis.

“There are possibilities in the transfer market, which can be in many directions.

“I believe that the market is currently somewhat crazy – and Bayern is not a crazy club.

“I know the culture of this club and will not ask for any players for whom the club has to spend crazy sums, but if there are occasions, why not?”

So could Alexis still be joining his friend Arturo Vidal in Munich? Could Wenger really agree to lose money by turning down a mega-offer from Man City and let him go to Bayern on the cheap?

  1. Save £10m by keeping him to his current contract then lose £40m by letting him walk for nothing next summer. It’s monopoly money nowadays so wtf?

  2. we are arsenal if Alexis isn’t happy let him go he is replaceable, can’t keep an unhappy player get Lemar, Lacazette and Seri.

  3. Munich are one of the most slipperiest tight ass-ded clubs out there! They know how to tap up and wrap up a top player on a freebie.
It’s more than likely that they will try to encourage Sanchez to run down his contract and sign for them for Freeeee!

  4. sell him to city take the 150mil they r offering.we can buy top young talents like Sanogo sagna gervinho players.

  5. As a season ticket holder if AFC sell Sanchez to city it will be a declaration of war!…If Wenger thinks the atmosphere at the emirates was toxic last season wait till we start badly this season and he will find that the £50m in the bank was not worth it…
Sadly there is really no world class player available on the market to replace sanchez and unless Lacazette has a blistering start to his arsenal career a toxic atmosphere will not allow him flourish..
The club has to realise that a toxic atmosphere is the biggest threat to next season NOT SANCHEZ!..
The only perhaps less bad plausible option is sell for a lower fee to bayern or PSG …
The only way we can sell to city that may not spark a fan revolt is if we can do an Aguero swap!..

I already have my banners and patiently waiting..

    1. Wenger knows the score, don’t worry lol ?? as soon as the season ended his main targets for this transfer window were announced straight away ? Mbappe, Lacazette and Lemar. Yet some glory hunter wants fame & fortune for declaring the Lacazette signing even while is was already in negotiations at the time lol smfh

  6. its been reported that Wenger has been trying to convince Mbappe’s father for his son to make the move to Arsenal.
Older reports have stated that the player would also want his younger brother who players in the Monaco academy to be signed along with him, if he were to move on to another club and there’s more… Mbappe would also want his family to be included in a potential move as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger has even offered a coaching job at Arsenal to the players father, in an attempt to persuade Mbappe to make the move to The Emirates. There is something definitely cooking here, as are Arsenal are now offering £125 million to Monaco for Mbappe.

  7. It will be dreadful if Wenger allows SANCHEZ to join city. Just look at their attack at the moment and with SANCHEZ joining them . If he wants to go fine but not to a rival . Maybe PSG should step in

  8. These Mbappe stories just won’t fade away.hopefully something’s cooking in our favor yeah?

  9. I just heard that Atletico are still interested in signing Lacazette. their plan is to sign him, and then loan him to AC Milan until the New Year.

Why is nothing ever straight forward for Arsenal!

  10. Swap him for Douglas Costa, if he insists on going. In six months, the whole of EPL will be screaming Costa’s name and Alexis will be on Munich bench.

  11. Latest regarding the Ox:

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejected a take-it-or-leave-it offer from the club in a huge boost to Liverpool’s chances of signing him, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that the 23-year-old was presented with a contract extension which offered him a significant wage increase but he decided to decline as he is more focused on playing football rather than improving his personal terms.

The report claims that the youngster is prepared to see out the rest of his current contract at the Emirates Stadium and leave the club on a free transfer next summer.

It is said that the midfielder is interested in a move to fellow Premier League rivals Liverpool as he is eager to work with manager Jurgen Klopp who has improved attacking players such as Adam Lallana, Georgino Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane.

The Times report that Liverpool have made an approach to Arsenal for Oxlade-Chamberlain and that Klopp has made the Englishman one of his top priorities in the summer transfer window.

Klopp’s chances of landing the proven Premier League player this summer have now been considerably enhanced by this latest development.
