Confirmed – Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah joins Leeds United on loan

It has been officially confirmed that Leeds United have won the race to sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah on a one-season loan.

Nketiah had a brilliant pre-season but it was clear that he is still fairly raw and this loan to Leeds is a very good move for him and for Arsenal.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is a top-quality manager admired by the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone, in fact, Pep Guardiola has called him the best coach in the world and that can only be good for young Nketiah.

The 20-year-old will certainly get a lot more first-team action at Elland Road and I have no doubts that he will return to Arsenal a far better player.

Nketiah knocked in four goals in pre-season and the fans were singing his name and a permanent transfer would not have been welcomed, however, a loan to a Championship club is definitely more than acceptable.

The young forward has made 19 first team appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring four goals as well as 25 youth team appearances for the England team from U18 through to U21 knocking in an incredible 21 goals.

      1. A natural goalscorer who should flourish with regular game time .He could well be “ready” for Arsenal in a year’s time.

  1. Good placement as Leeds will again be in the promotion battle.
    Good luck to the lad.
Sure to be several other promising players going out too.
I think a few big names may still be loaned or sold also.
Apparently Zaha is not moving but still 50 mins to go 🙂

      1. Agree with that Sue, great move for Eddie, I’ll be rooting for Leeds United this season for a return to the Premier League for the reason of not only Eddie banging in tons of goals but also the fact that Manchester United will have another massive rival on their doorstep. Leeds United don’t like Manchester United big time.

  2. He was set to move to Bristo City but relationship between Emery and Bielsa gave Leeds the advantage.
    Remember the name?

  3. Good luck Nketiah, come back to us in one piece and have a great experience, enjoy your football you lucky sod, all the best.
