Half-time video – Saints suffer Arsenal THREE-for-all

Arsenal made a large number of changes to their starting line-up for the trip to Southampton today, but Arsene Wenger clearly has no doubts over his selection after the opening 45.

The team started brightly creating a reasonable number of chances, and before you knew it, they were ahead!

15 minutes into the match, and Lucas Perez has slipped Danny Welbeck through on goal, and he slots it neatly round the keeper with a confident sliced finish.

The next goal was incredible, and shows just how right Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s inclusion at centre-midfield with a stunning long-ball from his own half in front of the on-running Danny Welbeck, who continues his dream first start of the campaign with his second goal.

Danny Welbeck clearly isn’t done with tormenting these poor Saints, and added an assist to his name as well, all inside the opening half of the match. Some neat passing by our beloved Arsenal saw Welbeck running towards the by-line, before cutting the ball across the goalkeeper for Theo Walcott to beat the defender to slot the ball into the net.

Lucas Perez and the Ox are playing exquisitely causing havoc for the home side, and I’m excited to see just how many we will end the game with.

Which goal was your favourite?

  1. Definitely the first.
Great pass from Lucas split the defence, and a sexy little chip from Welbeck.
