Half-time + video: Arsenal lucky to lead Swansea

Arsenal take a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to Olivier Giroud, but I cant help but want to thank Mike Jones.

Swansea have come into this game fired up, and had much the better chances in the opening 45, and will be frustrated to have come into the interval a goal down.

Alexis Sanchez managed to test the goalkeeper with a stinging shot from the edge of the box, but it was Olivier Giroud who found himself in the right place at the right time, as he has done so often since returning to the first-team.

The main talking point of the half is shown in the below video, where on close review, you can see Laurent Koscielny miss the ball completely, while making contact with both of Ki Sung-Yeung, who in turn goes to the floor.

Watching it appeared as if a penalty had been given, only for the official to pull his yellow card from his pocket and give it to the attacker!

The video fails to show you the point where the attacker is arguing with the referee, while Laurent Koscielny is behind the referee winking in enjoyment.

Anyway… Onto the second-half!

  1. Gotta feel a bit sorry for them as they gifted three goals but the lesson is that if we play with intensity that started the second half things will happen …

  2. massive difference between 1st and 2nd half. Way more urgency, more movement and it created a bunch of problems for Swansea. Alexis getting on the scoresheet keeps him happy
