Emmanuel Adebayor has stated that Arsenal are lacking in squad depth in comparison to Premier League leaders Chelsea. The striker is currently in Togo as he looks to help his side to win their first African Cup of Nations ever.
Speaking ahead of his side’s second group game with Morocco, he answered questions about his former side Arsenal. Adebayor claims that our problem is with our squad depth, citing Chelsea for comparison. He said: “Arsenal have a good team but if Sanchez gets injured I don’t know who they’ve got.
“If you look at Chelsea, when Hazard gets injured they’ve got Willian.” Adebayor said.
“If Willian gets injured they can still play Moses further forward.
“Arsenal’s problem is that today they are just Ozil and Sanchez.
“If one of them gets injured, it is a problem.”
It is an interesting thought. There are very few Arsenal fans that would disagree that this season we have a much larger and talented squad compared to any other time in the last decade, but there is also no doubt that Ozil and Alexis are by far and away our best two players.
We DO have lots of quality forwards and midfielders, but how could you see us lining up if we did lose both our superstars to injury???

Cech; Bellerin,Mustafi,Koscielny,Gibbs; Xhaka,Coquelin; Lucas,Iwobi,Walcott; Giroud
We have Cazorla, Welbeck and Lucas to comfortably take on the roles of Alexis and Ozil. Not a problem.
Except Cazorla is highly unlikely to play again this season.
With everyone but those two fit.

Lucas and Giroud are developing an understanding like Alexis and Ozil.
