Official Arsenal team and preview of Watford away

Arsenal are hoping that the players can pick up nicely from where we left off in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago with the thrashing of our big Premier League rivals Manchester United. Arsene Wenger suggested that the excellent international break enjoyed by the various Gunners was helped by their club form and so hopefully that will happen in the same way for us at Watford today.

THe Arsenal team almost picks itself these days, or at least it does in the Premier League which is our clear priority target. And due to the importance of Alexis Sanchez and his amazing physical condition, Wenger has decided against giving him a rest just a few days after he returned from international duty with Chile in South America. Koscielny is back at the heart of our defence as well after passing a late fitness test.

There is a surprise on the subs bench though, with young Matt Macey the back up keeper, so I assume that there is some problem with David Ospina. Apart from that, however, the Arsenal boss has good options from the bench, with Giroud, the Ox and Arteta as well as plenty of defensive cover.

      3. Disbelief, where is Gabriel ? Not on bench, if he is injured why are we not told. If he isn’t why is he not playing instead of Mertesacker. Otherwise what should he do to claim his place alongside Kos.

      But anytime someone mentions poaching either the Championship or League 1 for their best players they’re laughed at…
      Vardy has a serious engine on him, as well as a mean shot. But to some he wouldn’t be considered “top, top, top, top, top, top” talent…Go figure.

      1. To be fair Wenger did buy two players with an engine last year which were Sanchez and Wellbeck.

        Not saying Wellbeck is better but Wenger can’t realistically buy a third player of exactly the same type particularly when he thinks Ox is out on the wing for the foreseeable future.

        1. the problem lies in fact that most fans see only name and fame of player Jamie vardy would have been a good backup player to have considering our luck with injuries and it is not always about the transfer fee or name remember falcao robinho mutu schevshenko etc etc about engine vardy had an amazing engine and modern game always require hard workers in team how many times u have seen ox tracking back he carelessly loses ball at dangerous positions very often

  18. ohh Laurent only if u can take some aggression from gabriel but what an outstanding defender our defence looks best in the league considering ageing Cahill terry company and it seems there best days are past

  20. what did i say? you press & play compact against arsenal and they suffer. Like sir alex said in his book, we found out arsenal’s style of play in ’05

    1. now what u want to say every team suffers when pressed as it hinders their natural play just watch Barcelona vs atletico mad or Bilbao they may win but game is tight as it is EPL not laliga so finding rhythm after 2 weeks may take some time so just don’t jump to conclusion before the completion of match

    3. teams press and they tire in the second half. they play like a cup final and they go on a losing streak.

      better to play like Leicester and lose 5-2 then Liverpool and get a 0-0.

Where’s that idiot budd guy with his talk of Ramsey being pure class .,, the guy is average and like all average players sometimes he has good spells sometimes awful this season he is awful and the fact that wenger has to start him is all I need to know about his inability to create a winning team … Same goes for Walcott and merteshaker …45 minutes of dire football

  25. Replace Ramsey ASAP-he is frustrated and he’s getting a red card very soon.He’s embarrasing himself chasing Watford players all over the pitch.He’s done for today.Why we cannot play the young Adelaide on right wing?He’s far better than Ramsey,on pair with Martial.

  26. Y are we always seeing the worst when we are not winning but quick to start praising everyone with one good game. I think they are playing okay considering it’s an away game and they are freaking playing against another 11 human beings. I just think Ramsey feels the need to make a point and should rather calm down and it will come to him. I feel very comfortable knowing we got Cech between the sticks. I feel it’s a game we will take all 3 points if we try to be clinical in the second half. Loving this team’s style of play. Ozil is freaking awesome!!!!!

  27. Again it shows, give us space and time on the ball, don’t rough us up and we will look world beaters… But play high intensity football against us then see us panic and look like pansies..

    United gaves us so much time and space in that first half, we took advantage.. Our players are so technically good which should mean them being comfortable on the ball under pressure, but they all go into panic mode with a bit of pressure..

    So frustrating..

  28. This is Watford’s fifth League game at home in the Premier League, and every single one has been 0-0 at half-time.
    Keep calm we will come out firing in the second half

  50. surely that was a penalty????? Just because we are 3-0 up doesn’t mean both Gomez and the defender didn’t take out Sanchez after he touched the ball (and still almost kept it in).
