Official Arsenal team for Swansea City clash

The big question for Arsenal fans ahead of this Premier League clash with our recent bogey team Swansea City was how Arsene Wenger and the players would deal with the injury problems that have suddenly left the Gunners looking very stretched, especially going forwards.

The boss has gone for Joel Campbell in the right forward position and hopefully the young Costa Rican striker will use this chance to show what he can do, as he does regularly for his national team. With Giroud, Alexis, Ozil and Cazorla all in good form and with the ability to hurt any team, Campbell should have chances to prove that he can be a Premier League star.

He will have to be on the ball defensively as well and he and Hector Bellerin have a big jon on their hands to keep the Swansea winger Montero quiet. Remember how many problems he caused Calum Chambers down that flank last season.

Cech
Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal
Coquelin, Cazorla
Campbell, Ozil, Sanchez
Giroud

Subs: Debuchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Flamini, Chambers, Iwobi, Macey.

THere is not a great deal of attacking threat sitting on the Arsenal bench so we could really do with the starting line up starting well and taking this game away from the home team before it starts to get near the end. And of course it goes without saying that we really do not want to see any more Gunners picking up an injury.

  1. 6 of Arsenal’s 7 substitutes are “defensive” players. That is, there’s no one to bring off the bench to change the game. Brilliant.

    1. Well Walcott, Ox, Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky and Welbeck are all injured. We don’t really have any other options…

    2. That is a good point
      I didn’t realise that.
But as Koscielny, Flamini, Bellerin have shown in the past, even defenders can score

So everyone needs to step up and play well.

  2. The subs bench is looking rather sad and depleted,
I suppose the game plan will be to go one nil up and then take off Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud! And defend like crazy? ?

  3. Happy to see Campbell and nothing that could be done about the bench, all (about 6-7) of our injured players are for the front postitions, there is nothing you could do about it. Its impossible to play the starting players and in the front 4 and having 6 of the backup injured and having a strong bench for the offensive… the squad limit is 25 and i think we have filled 24 slots, and if we have bought a player on the level of ox welbeck, it wouldnt be ideal when they are all fit again..so i understand that wenger didnt want a player on that niveau for that we have campbell with potential
or of course one can argue that we could have sold players like wilshere or ox or walcott or ramsey who attract injuries (i dont like to say injury prone ^^) and bought less injury prone (:P) players but i would have absolutely hated it to see even one them leaving.. we are the arsenal not city or chelsea or madrid who just throw good talented players out who represent the club and identify themselves with us, we.. well atleast wenger and some fans, believe in our players and squad

    1. In all honesty I wish he won’t be sacked.
As for the result I D wish for a draw. Always in big clashes of our title rivals I wish for a draw .
But I can’t deny this score puts a smile on my face

      1. The sort of draw in which each of our title rivals take one point instead of one taking 3…?

As i said in the post ypibreplied. ..I am all smiles feelings wise. But in terms of objective thoughts it’s always better that all of them lose points and that’s possible when they meet and draw

  4. Joel won’t get a better chance than this. Play well and he starts vs Bayern as well, if not maybe Gibbs will slot at LW and Sanchez at RW against Bayern.

  5. Listen Baby Please

Look, if you think about it 10 out of 11 players are regulars and Campbell will work hard to prove himself. So don’t be negative. Have some faith in our team. We can win

We also have an excellent away record. That should not change with one change hopefully

Does anyone know the Chelsea/Liverpool score :-‘)

  6. Campbell looks like he showed up today, watchout ox and Ramsey.
When all fit we really will have a selection problem, good times.

  7. I have no idea how we can win thig game. By now we should be losing. Some lucky goal and park the buss would have done the job.

  8. only encouraging thing in that half is that it cant get worse…swansea should have this game in the bag…so wenger had better get them motivated…campbell had his moments but nothing to work with really

  9. Merti needs to stay behind bec Gomis will outpower him and outrun him with ease.Comon Arsenal, show some fighting spirit

  10. very foolish of OG to hold unto that ball for so long for em to make a rash tackle on him……… Totally inexperienced

  11. Damn missus made me miss this for some bs haloween event with her family.

    What am i missing???
    Dammit this is agony.

Feels like i havent ate or something.

    COYG

  12. Wenger really needs to give a good talk to the team to make them perforM better during second half

    COYG baby please score

  13. needs to give campbell a bit more licence to roam try to work of giroud a little … need to get ozill on the ball… bring on gebriel

  14. Put sanchez up front, ozil on the left, santi in the middle, and sub off for Giroud for flamini as a dm.

    1. yeah it was almost psychic the understanding of giroud and ozil respectively girouds sense for the flight of the ball

  15. OT rkw and ks-gunner probably have a pretty miserable life, considering how pessimistic and negative they are

      1. well i can still stay happy/calm with one underpar HALF where it stands 0:0
but i understand that you can’t do that if you turn into hardcore hate mode in 45 min lol.. i feel for u.. really

        1. Uhhh have wanted wenger gone for 5 years not 45 mins even as u junkies keep saying just a little more of the wenger smack please and it will be ok just a little more please I need just a little and will be ok … So let’s see if your habit will persist … I feel for all people who have had to go through cold turkey every year i really do … But who knows this year you might still hit the big high … If we bring in isco in January I think u might even be right … otherwise ud better start stocking up on the morphine ASAP

  16. Silly Stat
Oxlade Chamberlain – 8 League appearances – ZERO goals
joel_campbell ONE App – ONE goal (so far)

  17. You cant skip watching Arsenal for a second cause goals are Boom, Boom, BOOM.

Cant believe I missed it for the rugby.
