Rotation or not? Who will play for Arsenal at Southampton?

This is set to be quite a big day for Arsenal’s season, and Arsene Wenger has to make some crucial and decisive decisions, and more importantly they have to be the right ones.

We are just 7 days away from the League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which could make or break our chances of catching our neighbours up in the title race, but conversely this FA Cup game against Southampton could also be just as important. If we lose this then that could be our only real hope of a trophy gone down the Swannee, but how to win BOTH and keep our stars fit for next week?

We have already discussed our midfield problems, with only Coquelin and Ramsey our only option in the centre. Can they both play all three games in the next seven days without worrying about fatigue?

One thing for sure is that David Ospina will be in goal, as per Wenger’s agreement with the Colombian. Wenger could stick with our best back four of Bellerin, Koscielny, our new lucky charm Mustafi, and Monreal on the other flank, but will Wenger tinker with them and play Gabriel and Gibbs instead?

Up front we have Walcott and Giroud both fit to return, so will Wenger play those two with the automatic starters Ozil and Alexis? Or will he keep Sanchez as centre-forward with Iwobi on the left and Giroud on the bench?

It is great that Wenger has such a large squad to choose from, but will he rotate tomorrow, or just play his best XI in all three games?

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

  1. Southampton is a team good enough to give even our best 11 a rough time. Whatever the rotation we need a very strong line up. I wouldn’t mind seeing Alexis in the line up

  2. Rotation? Field the best 11 for this match.
Sanchez and Ozil must play. Big stars in other big teams do play in almost all important games. This game is important.
All I want is s win. I don’t take defeat in any competion.

  3. I agree we should play our best team, and then worry about Watford on Tuesday. I sometimes wonder if Wenger and Puel get together and agree to make so many changes each to keep it even?
    They are best mates!

  4. Stuff that. Play all reserves. I don’t care if we get knocked out. I want us to beat Watford and Chelsea and be real challengers for the EPL.
