Arsenal have already signed a midfielder of course but that is the area of the pitch that has been the hardest hit by our injury problems, and so we are still being linked with various other players for those positions. One of those has been the Swiss international Granit Xhaka who is currently starring for the German Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.
Granit is only 23 but has been in the senior Switzerland side for five years and has already earned 39 caps. Strangely enough he learned his trade at Basle where we have just sourced Mohamed Elneny. He moved on to Mönchengladbach and has become an integral part of the side who finished up in third place in the Bundesliga last season.
But despite the young midfielder being a key player for them, The Mirror is reporting that the German club have admitted that they would let him leave if the right offer came along.
Their sporting director Max Eberl told a German radio station, “It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit’s own performances and of course it depends on the figures.
“If they reach a certain level, then you could start to get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations.”
He certainly sounds like a typical Wenger signings and would be a great investment for the future at his age. Perhaps it is time for Wenger to stop waiting for some of our players to fulfil their promise and start bringing in players that are already the finished product like Granit (and Elneny?)
Should Wenger go and pay whatever Moenchengladbach will accept for Xhaka?
Elneny and maybe a new right back will probably be the only additions we make this window. That is if Debouchy leaves of course. Although, Gabriel can play right back so scratch the rb signing.
Beware additions. I remember Man City adding Rodney Marsh for there title ambitions.Top top striker of his day.Massive flop and no league win when they where strolling towards it.
If we are to bring in any other player this window I would rather we go all out for an attacking player though that would be hard to do at this moment.
Maybe a call from Wenger to Zizou on the availability of Jese for a loan deal with the option of purchase or Zaza from Juve. Without Sanchez (you never really know when he will be back now) and now Ozil goals have dried up abit. Theo, Joel and Ox have there own strengths but if OG and Ramsey don’t score we look abit lost sometimes.
In the summer lets go all out for Grienzman to play on the right.
@007 How about Calhanoglu?
unfortunately I have never seen him play mate so I cant comment on him. Is he any good?
Watched a few clips of Wellington Silva recently, its sad his playing for a poor club like Bolton, hopefully we send him to a better team next season for his continued development.
@007
Lil dude(Wellington) is the business. I hope we bring him into the 1st squad next season…
The lesson learned this
season is that money does
not always = success.
Man U spent mega and
are still struggling.
Man City spent 130 mill
and are on a par with last season.
Chelsea has a hugely expensive squad and are 15th.
Arsenal spent 10 mill and are top of the league
with Leicester a team of nobodies.
EPL Goals. Vardy 15
Ighalo 14 Mahrez 13 Giroud 12 Kane 12.
The mega expensive players.
Lukaku 15
Costa 7 Rooney 6 Benteke 6
Stirling 5 Martial 5 De Bruyne 5 Depay 2
#FACT #WengerKnows
I honestly believe that we wouldn’t be signing anyone else in this transfer Window!
Save if the unexpected happened to 1 or 2 top Gunners which we are not pray for, the Boss may not sign again any 1st team looking players anymore in this January window. But he might sign 1 or 2 Nigerians Fifa Under 17 World Cup if reports in the media are to be believed.

What is wrong with walcott?
probably bored..
nothing wrong with walcott just those delusional fans who think he is a quality attacker
If you have been following Theo throughout the 10 years he has been at the club his not a full season kind of player.
Theo shines in bits, half a season kind of player, yes you might argue its because injuries have hampered him in the past but who knows the true story really. His now fit and playing on a regular but his play in not consistent enough. His a kind of player who will player badly against Norwich but score two against Chelsea and then go missing again.
His a bit part player who needs to rotate with an even better player, Ox has failed, lets see how he will respond from Welbz competition as I’m Wenger cant bench Theo for Joel. Joel will most likely be used as cover for Sanchez with whoever is player on the right switching sides when Joel is on.
Showing his true colours, only plays well when he wants a new contract, doesn’t deserve to be a starting CF nor a does he deserve to start on RW after Campbell’s emergence.
@georgement
walcott will probably destroy chelsea on sunday and we will all be like what a wordclass player he is, he is better than giroud….bla bla
nacho monreal extends his contract,great news…coyg
@joe from kenya
And stats show that he’s been our most consistent defender, even beating out Kos…Big ups “Nacho Nacho Man”
Xhaka? he’s fine but I would rather prefer going for the power house that is MOUSSA SISSOKO from Magpies..strong..great shot..physical..knows the EPL and can be deploy either as RW, Dm or CM you name it..this guy is a beast and now that Newcastle bought to CDM he wants to move to play in UCL..not expensive either..go and get HIM..
