Spanish report says midfielder is struggling at Arsenal and hints at regret

Thomas Partey is one of Arsenal’s most expensive signings under Mikel Arteta and remains a key member of the Gunners’ squad.

The Ghanaian is one of the first names on the team sheet at Arsenal, but Fichajes.net says he is struggling with life at the Emirates.

In a ridiculous claim, the report says Partey and his former Atletico Madrid teammates, Saul Niguez, have found life very tough in the Premier League where they now play for Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

It says Partey’s struggles in England reveal he made a mistake when he decided to swap the Wanda Metropolitano for the Emirates.

Just Arsenal opinion

This report is clearly an effort from a bitter Spanish media outlet to report something negative about Partey.

It is common sense that every player would need time to get used to the environment at their new club.

Partey hasn’t taken the change from Spanish to English football smoothly because of his poor fitness record.

But in no way does that mean he isn’t firmly in the plan of Mikel Arteta, as the report suggests.

He has shown some good form recently and it is only a matter of time before he dominates the Premier League, as he did in La Liga with Atletico.

  1. Such a claim isn’t so far-fetched to me, as it was a mess last season, considering the piss-poor tactics that clearly messed with his confidence and the time he spent on the trainer’s table…I can only hope he can remain healthy and continue to return to the form he displayed for the better part of his time in Madrid…if that were to happen he could be a major centerpiece figure moving forward, which would undoubtedly help to alleviate any of those concerns he might have felt since his arrival

  2. I urge fans to read what Thoma Partey himself is saying – as the writer says, this is just the Spanish media causing trouble.
I guess this post will be allowed.

  3. Think I’ll wait to hear from Partey, I avoid the fish wraps and their rumors. Spanish media seem quite bitter when players leave for the PL.

Partey is our best midfielder by a mile, and his talents on full display when in a B2B role at Arsenal.

Imagine if we had a DM that allowed Partey to get forward more often.

White as DM next year while Saliba and Gabriel pair at the back. Worth a shot…

  4. False report, not worth taking note. I agree with Durand, White could be tried as DM with Saliba and Gabriel in defence. It will allow Partey more freedom to play.
