The Gunners had a great win in Sevilla last tonight, despite the late surge from the Europa League holders which made Arsenal have to defend like crazy to stop the Spaniards from nicking a late equaliser.
Gabriel Jesus scored our second goal after Martinelli put us in front, but when Jesus looked like he pulled his hamstring and had to be taken off the pitch, there were some worried faces around, especially the boss Mikel Arteta. When asked about his thoughts on Jesus after the game, he told TNT: “Really happy with that part – big games for big players, and he needed to produce those moments to win in stadiums like this.
“He’s done it, and obviously, he opened the game for us in a great way. And then, we’re really sad because he felt something in his hamstring, and he had to come off and I’m worried about that.”
It was another injury blow following on from Arteta revealing that Thomas Partey had yet again been left out of the starting line-up due to injury, and it began to look like our tough win came at a high cost to the Gunners.
TNT also managed to have a word with Man Of The Match Jesus himself after the game, and although he admitted that he would have to wait for a scan tio be sure, he did not think it was a big enough problem to worry about. The 26-year-old said: ‘I felt something. Let’s see.
“I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see. I have a scan, maybe tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it will be nothing.”
Well that at least sounds positive, but as usual we will have to wait and see. I could see Arteta giving him a rest in the next match against Sheffield United as a precaution even if the scan confirms Jesus’ assessment, as there are many more important games coming thick and fast in the next month….

Hopefully it is minor and he misses the next match. Jesus seems very injury prone, both him and Partey.
Serious conversations need to be had, and perhaps in the Summer new players are brought in. We need reliable players if we are going for titles, and these two raise Serious questions.
A new clinical striker who can offer something different would be a good start. Jesus could rotate with him and Saka, it would address both positions with one addition.
The Brazilian was a handful last night, but might have really comes alive in the second half, Need Trindale joining the ranks for some of his relentless diagonals passes
