The three things Arsenal need to tonight to beat Standard Liege

Three ways we can beat Standard Liege by Lagos Gooner

Hello Gooners, it is Arsenal’s last match-day in the Europa League Group Stages today and I am so sure most fans are apprehensive, just like I am. We finally won a game after several attempts on Monday night, but then does that victory give us the belief that we will win against Standard Liege?

The last time we played in Europe was two weeks ago, and we lost that game against Frankfurt; a game we should have won comfortably and qualify for the knockout stage of the Europa. If we had won that game, we would win the group and today, we would just be playing for formality’2 sake. Too bad we find ourselves in this type of dicey situation, but all hope is not lost, right?

Prior to our game against West Ham, we had not won any game in 9 attempts. Fortunately, we won that game and we expect to win today’s game too. We need to build our confidence and the best way we can do that is to win again today. We got no other option. How do I think we can win today? Well, here are my three ways I feel we can win.

(1). We need to use the same attacking formation we used against the Hammers- “No need changing a winning team” right? Well, in football, once a tactic or team selection wins you a game, is there any reason why you should not use that same team for your next game? No! No need changing your team unless if you are forced to do so by injuries.

(2) We need to start the game with a blast – If am not mistaken, ever since last season, Arsenal has been known to play well in one half and play badly in another half. Well, against Standard Liege today let us be known as the team that plays well for the whole 90 minutes duration. Is that too much to ask?

(3) The fans need to support the team from beginning to the end – Okay, I know we have been disappointed many times this season but Arsenal still remains our team and we need to support them from start to finish, no matter how the match turns out. Arsenal won against West Ham and by so doing, they have the right to enjoy the support of the team in full. Can we please give them that total support please?

Now, these may seem little things to do but if we follow these tips the sky may just be our starting point tonight. Up Arsenal!
