Will Liverpool loss really end Arsenal hopes of catching Chelsea?

I expect that most of the Arsenal fans, whether we are watching our own match against Watford on TV, listening to it on the radio or keeping up with the action in some other way, will also be keeping an eye or an ear on the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea.

That match kicks off 15 minutes after our own and it could be a very tense 15 minutes for the Gunners after the final whistle blows, as we all know that Chelsea are the team to beat in this title race and we could really do with a favour from the scousers tonight.

Assuming that Arsenal do beat the out of form Hornets at the Emirates Stadium, the gap between us and the current leaders will be cut to five, at least until their game ends. With Arsenal going to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, we could theoretically finish the week just two points off Chelsea and that would definitely make it game on.

On the other hand, some pundits reckon that Chelsea could have sealed the title before Arsenal even face them at the weekend, with a Sky Sports report claiming that a win over Liverpool would be enough for Antonio Conte’s side. In fact they are saying that Chelsea just need to avoid defeat in their next two games to secure the EPL trophy, but is this not just a bit presumptuous?

If Chelsea do draw both of these big games and Arsenal beat Watford, the gap will be six points and there will be 15 games left to play. Does that sound done and dusted to you?

  1. These so called pundits forget how Liverpool and Manchester City looked unstoppable early on in the season too. Anything can happen we just have to focus on winning our matches that’s it.
OT: Lol did anybody else realize this is transfers deadline day? I even forgot such a thing existed! This is our most complete squad in over a decade and really gives hope for the future of our club.

  2. Liverpool can’t afford to walk alone tonight.. Having said that, we just have to do our business tonight.

Obviously, I want a Liverpool win or a draw.

  3. I think the Reds will humble the Scousers by a 2-0 home win at Anfield tonight. While the Gunners will flit the Hornets with insecticide when they fly-in and land on the Ems football playing tuff this night too to stop them from stinging any Gunner with venom when the action to collect all the three points at stake in this match began. As regards to if Arsenal and Liverpool won their matches tonight which as a consequence will set up a high profile eye catching top of the table match clash between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Bridge on Saturday, let’s wait first to known the outcomes of these two matches

  4. We just have to show up from the first minute and win. That’s all we can do. If chelsea lose and we win, it’ll gives us an unreal amount of confidence going to chelsea on the weekend.
