Just like in the last round of Premier League games, Arsenal fans know that at least one of our main rivals for the title will be dropping points. Last time the Gunners did not make the most of the slips by Chelsea and Liverpool as we only just managed to rescue a point at Bournemouth.
This weekend is another away game for Arsenal against a team we are expected to beat in Swansea City, but we will have the advantage of a week’s rest as well as the return of some big players like Mesut Ozil to the side, and as long as we have learned our lessons from the last two slow starts then you would assume that we will be three points better off by Saturday night.
Assuming that and looking at the other fixtures it could be a very good weekend all round for Arsenal. Tottenham face an in form West Brom who have won both of their league games since they came within minutes and a Giroud header from holding us to a point.
Both Man City and Chelsea have tough away games against Everton and Leicester City respectively, while Liverpool have the fierce local derby against Man United at Old Trafford. Can the improving Foxes put another dent in Chelsea’s title momentum? Can Everton do to Man City what they did to us? And will the United v Liverpool match end in the perfect result for us, a draw? Fingers crossed gooners….
Bob.
Firstly, we must learn our lessons..
Secondly, we have to defeat Swansea..
Thirdly, we shouldn’t bottle yet another chance to close the gap
Finally, we see how other top teams result pans out..
@Uzi Ozil, your 4 statements can be summed up into just 2.
1st: We must learn our lesson YES, so if we learns our lessons then we will automatically win at swansea, that’s your 2nd, and by doing that we have also close the gap.
2nd: We wait and see other teams falter.
all those can be summed up into just one statement.. 5th. then we win the league
I think we should definitely first focus on our own game. It seems that of late, so called lesser teams are excited to face us as they know anything can happen. It’s as if we’ve become the team who gets struggling teams back in form.
I’ll be really upset if we don’t come out guns blazing. Surely we can’t start the game strolling again!
As for the other games – we can only hope for favourable results.
Spuds will be too strong for West Brom, I think. Leicester can beat Chelsea.
I always felt that Liverpool have the best “Big Match Temperament” – They are the best bet to break the United winning streak.
Greetings from Cape Town!
Well said. We have to learn our lessons from the previous games. The players coming in Will bring in the determination we need especially up front
Off topic:
I really think Memphis is an option for us. If he is available why don’t we get him.
I really do hope your not talking about Memphis Depay! He cant make the Manure squad and you want him at Arsenal!
this is Arsenal, from our rivals we get the old (Cech), the flops (Sylvester) and the average (Welbeck), but we sell them the lethal (Van Persie), the best on their positions (A. Cole) and others
so anything is possible at Arsenal
@Kos-tafi
I was thinkin the same. Dude has a boat load of abilities. Just because Jose and Louie couldn’t bring it out of him, doesn’t me it ain’t there. A natural LW at 22/24 mil. I say, why not…
Assuming we win our game, it is hard to choose between Man U and Liverpool.
Man U have won 8 or so in a row and if they win we gain on Liverpool but created no distance to the team below us. The big question is who is more likely to challange us or drop out of the top 4 race, Liverpool or Man U?
I am more afraid of Man U partially because I really dislike Mourinho, although I respect him as a manager
Swansea v Arsenal = Arse win
Leicester v Chel$ea = Draw
Everton v Man Shitty = Everton win
Manure v Loserpool = Draw
Spuds v WBA = Spuds win (obviously hope they get leathered)
If these results come in, table will be as follows:
1. Chel$ea- 49 points
2. Loserpool- 45 points
3. Spuds- 45 points
4. Arsenal- 44 points
5. Man Shitty- 42 points
6. Manure- 40 points
The race for the title is truly still wide and open in my eyes. Their are so many twist and turns to come this season anything can happen. I would not write off our title hopes just yet!
wow!! you really hate Chelsea, even if they draw they won’t get any point
Well spotted lol
it is still very possible for us to win the league , depending, of course, on freaky february. we are not out of it yet guys.
