Arsenal star linked with a shock return to his home country

Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a surprise return to Brazilian club Palmeiras despite being a key player at Arsenal.

The striker has been Arsenal’s main number nine since he moved to the club, although there have been many suggestions that Arsenal might sign someone new in the summer.

The Gunners remain in the market for a new striker, and fingers are crossed to see which of their many targets will join, but Jesus remains a key player for them.

Despite his importance to the team, he has been linked with a return to Palmeiras as a replacement for the Real Madrid-bound Endrick.

The Brazilians will have money to spend, and a report by Sport Witness reveals that they want Jesus to return.

However, a journalist has quickly dealt with those rumors, with Jorge Nicola revealing on his YouTube channel that Palmeiras simply cannot afford the deal.

He is valued at least €70m and has a contract with Arsenal until 2027, which effectively secures Arsenal’s future with him.

Just Arsenal Opinion

It is impressive that Palmeiras will think about paying us for Jesus, but they simply cannot afford to sign any of our players.

Jesus is also too young to return to Brazil and plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world; why would he want to change that?

  1. I think if GJesus who still has 3 years on his contract to run, stays at Arsenal next season.
The onus will then be on Eddie Nkethia to leave Arsenal on sale or on loan next summer.
Which if it happens, his leaving will make room in the squad for the surfing of the much anticipated world class striker by Arsenal next summer.
Which if ire does come to fruition, Arteta will still have a 3 man striker options of: GJesus, Karl Havertz and the newly signed one on list of his striker department. And this normal.

  3. If I thought there was the slightest chance of him leaving us, and esp fetching a fee of £70mill. (which is obviously never going to be what he is worth, being actually worth considerably LESS) I would be overjoyed.

I see Jesus and Zinny as surplus to our needs for NEXT season and hope both leave this summer.

I definitely EXPECT BOTH to have left by summer of 2025 though, having both flattered to deceive early in their time here, but ultimately BOTH fallen short of what we need.

    1. Jon
IMHO we can sell both this Summer while their valuation is decent.

Timber and Kiwior has the LB position settled, so Zinchenko is surplus and his sale could raise funds to invest elsewhere.

Selling Jesus and Nketiah, potentially Nelson and/or ESR would bring ample funds for a RW.

Strike while the iron is hot, and hopefully Arteta is realistic and has seen both underperform and looks to make changes.

      1. Precisely my hope too Durand and for the fine reason you state.

Both will not be here long, as is obvious (at least to me) even if they stay one more pointless season, while steadily shedding sale value. Sell both ASAP is my mantra!

  4. We have plenty of other players way worse that will be released and moved on and free up considerable wages. Elneny, Cedric , Okonkwo, Patino, Marquinhos, Tavares, Nketia,Tierney , about 5 academy players the wrong side of 21. That’s about 400k a week in wages. Plus Nelson, ESR probably at risk if decent offer. All contributed sod all this season. Jesus we need in squad but yes we need to now aim higher but he has his place above these and arguable a few more before we should consider selling him.

As much as Jesus form has dipped since his first season that has to
